QUICK FACTS

  • SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE! opened in August 1993 in the basement of Cafe Voltaire and broke attendance and length of run records.
  • The original director was Scott Ferguson and Nina Lynn produced.
  • SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE! moved to the Body Politic in 1994 and stayed there for six months while continuing to tour to schools and youth groups during the day.
  • SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE! moved Off Broadway in June 1995 and played at the Atlantic and The Lamb's Theatres for a total run of eleven months.
  • SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE! returned to Chicago at the Victory Gardens Theater in April 1996 and later moved to The Theatre Building. The show closed in Chicago in March 1997.
  • SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE! is now available through Music Theatre International and has had performances all over the USA.
  • The Canadian premiere of SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE! opened in Toronto in August of 1997.
  • A national tour of SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE! opened in Indianapolis in September of 1997. Troupe America has produced two additional national tours in 1999 and 2000.
  • SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE! has been featured on Entertainment Tonight, MTV News, Fox After Breakfast, Good Morning America, Night Stand, All Things Considered, Johnny B's Showgram, the Danny Bonaduce Show, and Cable News Network Entertainment News.
  • SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE! received other critical support in USA Today, The Reader, New City, Gay Chicago, The Chicago Sun-Times, The Chicago Tribune, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal.
